Dear UALE Colleagues,

I’m writing with some exciting news. After it’s been much requested by movement leaders here in the Pacific Northwest, the LERC will be partnering this spring with the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations to offer a unique executive education course called Managing with Labor’s Valueshttps://tinyurl.com/lerc-mwlv-2026. The four-day course focuses on helping managers of labor organizations lead staff and build their organizations while embodying the best values of the movement, and this will be the first time it's being offered on the West Coast. We're very excited to be embarking on this bi-coastal partnership!
During the 4-day workshop, participants will learn techniques to help staff succeed, foster shared accountability, and respond to common management issues while honoring the values of the labor movement. The class will take place over four days at South Seattle College’s Georgetown Campus on April 9th, April 10th, May 7th, and May 8th.
We are incredibly excited to offer this course because in our conversations with organizational leaders over the past year, many leaders have expressed their strong desire to break from preexisting patterns of management from the past, and to find new ways of building inclusive and dynamic organizations that can effectively build power.
Could you all help spread the word to your networks so interested folks could apply before spots fill up? Here is a link to the full details/registration pagehttps://tinyurl.com/lerc-mwlv-2026. Please feel free to share with those you know.
Sincerely,
Mara Rafferty
