Webinar 1— Thursday October 23 , 4:00-5:30 pm (EST)
Understanding How AI is Being Used, and Can Be Used,
To Improve Patient Care and Working Conditions for Healthcare Staff
AI is quickly being introduced in the U.S. healthcare industry. Most healthcare employers see AI almost solely as a way to cut jobs and reduce labor costs. Many AI experts, however, believe AI has the potential to both enhance patient care and improve healthcare workers’ experience at work.
AI can enhance patient care by improving diagnoses, personalizing care plans, and increasing the accuracy of recordkeeping. It can improve healthcare workers’ experience at work by automating routine tasks, optimizing work processes to reduce burnout and moral injury, and streamlining administrative processes. To ensure AI is introduced as more than a way to cut jobs, unions need a voice in its implementation.
This three-part Webinar Series will help union leaders and activists:
• Better understand the various AI tools that are being implemented in healthcare workplaces.
• Learn how healthcare unions can use their power to make sure AI tools are used to create a healthier workplace for staff.
• Become aware of how unions which represent healthcare workers are using their power to make sure AI benefits patients and healthcare workers and how other unions are dealing with AI issues.
All Healthcare Union Leaders and Activists are Welcome
