The SCR Summer School (formerly run by Kate Bronfenbrenner at Cornell) is a great way for union staff, community organizations, social movement organizations, and activists to develop skills for organizing, corporate accountability, and campaign building.

Goal: Prepare students to begin and advance in careers in strategic corporate research and strategic campaigns by teaching them to understand and research corporate structure and ownership structure, corporate finance, and the sources of corporate power.
Audience: Union staff, social change/corporate accountability organization staff, activists, and others who work or want to work in unions and social change organizations that strive to make and keep corporations accountable, including primarily labor unions and workers’ centers, environmental justice groups, and community-based organizations.
Program cost: The CUNY SLU Strategic Corporate Research Summer School accepts two types of students:
Sponsored: $1,300
Individual: $500
Sponsored students are employed by a union or social justice/corporate accountability organization that has approved their attendance and will pay for their participation in the Summer School. Sponsored students are not eligible for a scholarship. Individual students are not employed by a union or social justice/corporate accountability organization and pay their own program costs. Individual students may apply for a scholarship to cover program costs and housing (not transportation).
