“Democracy in Crisis: Critical Thinking for Collective Power” Training
Preview

  • Wednesday, January 7, 2026
  • 8:00-9:00 PM Eastern / 5:00-6:00 PM Pacific
  • Silvia Fabela and Bill Fletcher, Standing for Democracy

See a preview of a new training curriculum for working people and rank and
file union members. Participants will learn to make sense of how power
really works, why authoritarianism is on the rise, and help connect
personal struggles to larger systems, as well as what we can do about it
together. It sparks critical thinking and honest conversation among working
people who are feeling frustrated, fearful, and disillusioned by examining
the contradictions between political promises and lived experiences,
especially within our economic and political systems.

aiming to train hundreds of “solidarity heroes” (rank-and-file union
members, staff, elected leaders) to facilitate workshops for thousands of
working class people that helps them understand the threat of
authoritarianism, the true and tried strategy of scapegoating a small group
of working people to build power over working people, and the need for real
working class solidarity to beat the Billionaires and their political
allies.
