Folks—
The book I just reviewed—American Labour’s Cold War Abroad by Anthony Carew—is expensive, as Ruth Needleman pointed out. (Obviously, that’s the publisher’s decision, in which I had no input.)
However, if you go to the Athabasca University web site—http://www.aupress.ca/index.php/books/120277 http://www.aupress.ca/index.php/books/120277 —and go down to the middle of the page (across from “Details”), you will find that it can be downloaded for free. But it’s quite big: 510 pages.
But it is some fascinating reading!
Cheers—

Dear Folks—
Anthony Carew has just published a book titled American Labour’s Cold War Abroad, which is a very detailed look at US labor’s foreign policy between 1945-70.
I just published a review essay on this book at a journal called “Class, Race and Corporate Power”; it’s at https://digitalcommons.fiu.edu/classracecorporatepower/vol6/iss2/8/ https://digitalcommons.fiu.edu/classracecorporatepower/vol6/iss2/8/ .
Although not acknowledging my 2010 book, AFL-CIO’s Secret War on Developing Country Workers: Solidarity or Sabotage?, Carew definitively establishes four of my five major claims—and the fifth focuses on the period AFTER he ends his study.
I hope you will read and, if worthy, pass this on through your networks!
Thanks! And best wishes for a good holiday season.
In global labor solidarity—
