A good friend and comrade from the Bay Area is coming to Philadelphia end of August for a conference of organizers and asks for a contact who can show him some Philly labor history. Any suggestions? Volunteers? I don’t think i still have any contacts there from my days at UNITE back in 1998-99. But if anyone could get him into one of the old textile/millinery/uniform shops, just to see what those are like — that would be great. And an explanation of the arc of the industry and its union membership.
