Dear UALE friends and comrades:

Here is one of the many self-organized conferences spinning up all over the country out of the action matrix of Higher Education Labor United, higheredlaborunited.orghttp://higheredlaborunited.org

That’s the organization with the motto “wall to wall and coast to coast,” that envisions organizing all the workers that make a college or university work. It’s kind of a national version of a Campus Labor Council. Check it out! There’s no law against hope.

Here’s their blurb with a link to register:

Higher Education For All! The Future is Free

Join the Fight for Publicly Funded Higher Education, Worker Power, Community Accountability and Student Debt Cancellation

  • LEARN about the history of free higher ed in the US

  • MEET the people fighting for the future of higher ed

  • JOIN the movement to make higher ed work for students, workers, debtors, and communities

The launch event will feature organizations making progress to move us toward fully funded public higher education that respects workers, empowers communities, ends student debt, and transforms higher ed into a public good in the public interest.
